The legendary Reading-based jungle label, Basement Records, has released two new remixes of Top Buzz’s 1993 bass-driven darkside anthem, made all the more meaningful following the tragic passing of TB (Jason Kaye) in 1993. Purity was written in 2021 and was one of a few tracks I had completed, but remained unreleased. In 2022 I played a show for Dissonance in Bristol, and consequently played Purity, to which George (Artificial Red) contacted me the following day about this particular track I played, and I told him it was a piece called Purity. He really liked it and asked if he could remix it, and I agreed. Not long after he sent over the remix which I liked, but at that point I wasn't too sure where we could release them, so they remained unreleased for a time. The Holy Chalice is a jungle label based out of Sheffield, started in 2019 and run by Alex Deadman of Junglist Alliance, a man whose knowledge of Sheffield is undeniable and has one of the strangest cars I've ever been in. So far, there's been two wicked releases on the label, both of them by The Chalice Crew, with the concept being that it's a shared anonymous alias, meaning that anyone whose music is signed to the label has their music released under The Chalice Crew alias, making it open to being absolutely anyone..
