On New Year's morning, Cousin took a weary-eyed walk... ‘HomeSoon’ he thought, whilst cutting to the path by the Angophora Forest. As he made it down to the overgrown sidewalk, he caught a sudden sense of warmth from the surrounding flora. On closer focus, it was as if the plants and flowers had come alive...pulsing forward down the path as they bounced, smiled, and sneered all around him. Against logic, he was struck by an almost Garsonian desire to communicate with them. Learn More

Portuguese techno master Lewis Fautzi returns home after a while with his trademark rugged and solid techno.
For this release he provides four cuts of heavily pressurized dj tools, starting with Total Absence, starting with a solid groove spiced with bass enforced frequencies, the intensity grows as the bars go by using additional percussive layers and electrified drones floating over the beat.
Paranoia comes next, clean and solid drums, elastic sequences and high pitched atmospheres collide in another mental workout.
On the B side, Ground State provides another interpretation, in a more shuffled approach in the rhythms, precisely distorted and with the aid of a bleepy detail that appears from beyond the spectrum.
Closing the Ep, Uncertainty is the most rugged exercise in this release, once again distortion is wisely used and the approach is more industrial than the previous cuts.
One more proof of the expertise of this fundamental producer in today’s serious techno scene. Learn More
I will never stop saying this: fabric means the world to me. After being entrusted to regularly warm up Room 1 at the very twilight of my career, I was offered the chance by our dearly departed brother Shaun Roberts to mix FABRICLIVE CD in 2012, long before a soul knew of my existence as an artist. It propelled me into the clubbing orbit as a DJ who was able to lean on leftfield sounds; the kind of opportunity that continues to make my head spin. After the release of my debut album Drone Logic, in 2014 the club asked me to curate my own night, specifying that it cover all corners of my musical sky. I called it Divided Love. Learn More

"We are happy to start the year with a new release on Monument Records, and are eager to welcome Italian producer Sciahri to with a four-tracker that is best experienced with the whole body on a dark dancefloor.
His EP opens up with a spacious roller, and then traverses into different paces bound together by an undercurrent of bleak, but driving grooves, constantly spiraling further into the depths of the dancefloor.
Simultaneously, the distorted and twisted textures of Sciahri’s clear-cut production style makes this a record of introspection, sending us off with a vibrating half-time finale on the B-side.
We hope this EP finds it way, both into your ears, homes, clubs and bodies, and keeps you warm through the winter" Learn More

Al Wootton returns to his label Trule with his second album “We Have Come To Banish The Dark”. The record is a product of dystopic times, taut with energy and restrained violence, yet never oppressive or nihilistic. Unmatched textural-ambient vibesetters Mood Hut flaunt their aptitude for the style once again, this time presenting the latest five-track EP from Sydney's current-favourite musical HSP, Cousin. The origin story for HomeSoon, a dearth of synaptic reflections and blissful fuzzouts, goes something like this: on his way back from the New Year's rave, Cousin would perambulate all bleary-eyed, finding himself in the midst of a dense Angophora thicket. What followed was a deluge of plant-like eureka moments - ideas coming thick and fast, taking root in both arborescent and rhizomatic fashion - producing the likes of 'Overpass' and 'Muster', all of which present as ever-moving quasi-electronic organisms. Glasgow's Full Dose delivers its first injection of the year with Lvcchesi offering up a fascinating EP. Opener 'Vsna' is all about scratchy ambient textures, implied rhythms and bleak atmospheres, much like the work of early Actress. 'Vespucci' then lays down more of a club groove, with hissing and spitting electro beats and more great synth craft before 'Ominino' is a mix of caustic textures, frosted synths and explosive loops that is as eerie as they come. Last of all is an S&H Late Nite Hot mix that is just as unsettling, with whirring machine sound and a soulful feminine voice lost amongst the busted sounds. Learn More
Two curious heaters from DJ Overdose (Jeroen Warmenhoven) come hurtling our way on this new 12", blending influences from breakbeat, breakstep, electro and bassline. After going back to the drawing board again and again she resolved to let go of overthinking, eschew the process, and let experimentation lead the way, revisiting some simmering sketches and work in new ways. At what point does a new tool or technology become so integral to a process as to be intrinsic? And what happens if that technology starts to subordinate its user? By reflecting on these questions Machine Alliance, the new EP by Irish producer Kerrie on Tresor Records, connects her music to the sci-fi origins of techno and electronic music in general. With inspiration from classic books and films of the genre such as The Machine Stops, The Matrix, and Blade Runner as well as modern explorations in art and philosophy like Free Your Mind and Technopoly, the EP’s title takes on two opposing but intersecting meanings. One, based on the potential for machines to take over or replace humans, is a key idea of sci-fi that seems closer to reality with the arrival of machine learning and real artificial intelligence.
