Portuguese techno master Lewis Fautzi returns home after a while with his trademark rugged and solid techno.
For this release he provides four cuts of heavily pressurized dj tools, starting with Total Absence, starting with a solid groove spiced with bass enforced frequencies, the intensity grows as the bars go by using additional percussive layers and electrified drones floating over the beat.
Paranoia comes next, clean and solid drums, elastic sequences and high pitched atmospheres collide in another mental workout.
On the B side, Ground State provides another interpretation, in a more shuffled approach in the rhythms, precisely distorted and with the aid of a bleepy detail that appears from beyond the spectrum.
Closing the Ep, Uncertainty is the most rugged exercise in this release, once again distortion is wisely used and the approach is more industrial than the previous cuts.
One more proof of the expertise of this fundamental producer in today’s serious techno scene. Learn More

Glasgow's Full Dose delivers its first injection of the year with Lvcchesi offering up a fascinating EP. Opener 'Vsna' is all about scratchy ambient textures, implied rhythms and bleak atmospheres, much like the work of early Actress. I will never stop saying this: fabric means the world to me. After being entrusted to regularly warm up Room 1 at the very twilight of my career, I was offered the chance by our dearly departed brother Shaun Roberts to mix FABRICLIVE CD in 2012, long before a soul knew of my existence as an artist. It propelled me into the clubbing orbit as a DJ who was able to lean on leftfield sounds; the kind of opportunity that continues to make my head spin. After the release of my debut album Drone Logic, in 2014 the club asked me to curate my own night, specifying that it cover all corners of my musical sky. I called it Divided Love. Learn More

Unmatched textural-ambient vibesetters Mood Hut flaunt their aptitude for the style once again, this time presenting the latest five-track EP from Sydney's current-favourite musical HSP, Cousin. The origin story for HomeSoon, a dearth of synaptic reflections and blissful fuzzouts, goes something like this: on his way back from the New Year's rave, Cousin would perambulate all bleary-eyed, finding himself in the midst of a dense Angophora thicket. What followed was a deluge of plant-like eureka moments - ideas coming thick and fast, taking root in both arborescent and rhizomatic fashion - producing the likes of 'Overpass' and 'Muster', all of which present as ever-moving quasi-electronic organisms. Suchi’s bouncy, airy productions are so organically deft that they almost belie the complexity that exists within. Prior to her !K7 debut the Oslo-born, London-bred, Delhi-influenced DJ and producer found herself in a period of creative stagnation, while attempting to rediscover her own voice through production. After going back to the drawing board again and again she resolved to let go of overthinking, eschew the process, and let experimentation lead the way, revisiting some simmering sketches and work in new ways. Known for his work with The 3 Chairs collective as well as his solo jams, this Motor City mainstay opens up with 'You Always Hank Bank One Time' which is a real mental maze of rickety loops and blurts of degraded synth. 'Another Spring Lover' is another rusty and lo-fi piece of archetypal Detroit house that is very clearly machine music but with a unique sense of human soul. 'I'm Gonna Be The Everything' is a raw drum track with sparse, heartwarming chords and 'Slick Nickle Pladium Investment' is a knackered downbeat hip-hop closer. Magnificent. Learn More
