    2. EARL GREY - Death Rattle (EP)

Earl Grey lands on Rua Sound with a killer four track EP of dark, smoked-filled cinematic vibes straight from an 80s psycho-thriller. After over a decade of stellar contributions to some of the most crucial imprints around, we are delighted that he's contributed to our series of releases. There's three stunningly original 160bpm jams here, each dripping with Earl Grey's defiant experimentalism front and centre; a trip through vast range of sample sources and non-repetitive detailed percussion. Stick around too as he drops the tempo for the punishing Death Rattle, a tune so out there and at home on its own terms that it defies categorisation but demands to be heard and played as loud as is legal. Stunning material from a producer who continues to impress and innovate in equal measures. Learn More

    1. LADYMONIX - Steppin' Out EP

LADYMONIX invites us into the sweaty underground with her latest Steppin’ Out EP. The dancefloor-ready release follows her self-reflective, club reminiscent Club Nowhere. Steppin’ Out is a soundtrack for the afterhours with its murmuring disco vocals, deep four to the floor kicks, and acid basslines. Title track ‘Steppin’ Out’ leads with the anticipation and excitement of heading out for a night with your people. Inventive and genre-defying Waajeed takes his turn to reinterpret LADYMONIX’s lead single with a 180-degree approach. Waajeed's Get Into It Girl Dub version of ‘Steppin’ Out’ is a heavily energetic and expansive rework with a Learn More
    2. LADYMONIX - Club Nowhere EP

Ladymonix brings the class on the four tracks she lays down for Frizner Electric. 'Club Nowhere' is like a superbly deep Fred P track if he were a more extroverted character, while 'Mood' manages to marry dreamy pads to heavy weight kicks with a real sense of drive. The house gets raw and steamy on 'Gonna Let' then closer 'Movin On' is a super silky late night jam. What's more, a portion of sales from this EP will be donated to support Femme Queen Chronicles, a series about the lives of four black trans women in the city of Detroit. Learn More

    2. TRUNCATE - First Phase EP

Los Angeles-based producer Truncate - real name David Flores - originally celebrated the first decade of his eponymous label in 2021 by inviting two techno uber-heavyweights, James Ruskin and Luke Slater in his Planetary Assault Systems guise, to remix two tracks from his back catalogue. The results, from the powerful and percussive end of the techno spectrum, have been flying off the proverbial shelves ever since, and we're glad to report it's had another repress. The two original tracks on show are naturally formidable workouts. 'First Phase' is a dense and murky tribal techno stomper, while 'The Eve' is a jacking, drum machine Learn More

    1. YOSI HORIKAWA - Spaces

‘Spaces‘ is Horikawa’s new album, following from 2013’s ‘Vapor‘ released via London-based label First Word. This time the album is released on Borrowed Scenery, a new label setup by Horikawa and close collaborator Daisuke Tanabe to enable them to operate free of constraints. The album features 11 songs that combine field recordings and sound design with a range of stylistic touch points: the fluid intricacies of hip-hop, the precise efficacy of IDM, the euphoric physicality of dance music, the humanity of acoustic instrumentation. Each song blends a primary sound source with a certain style, with titles often hinting at the origins of the sounds – “Moldy Vinyl,” “Vietnam,” “Fluid,” “Swashers,” “Nubia” – or the mood the music evokes. What ties it all together is Horikawa’ s deeply personal understanding of what constitutes music, an understanding shorn from the commercial and stylistic structures of music as a commodity.
