Wild post-d&b from Cardiff music producer Quartz, whose music speaks for itself: in Elliot Garvey, we find an artist rightly hesitant to involve himself in the gaudy blare of online releasing. What is lost in the way of covetous imitativeness, which goes all too commonly with the territory of attempting to maintain an online presence, is made up for with a raw, unversed and entirely original sound, which builds on the tempos and harshnesses of drum & bass while otherwise upending its banalities. 'Russian Roulette' and 'Lucid' hardly care to qualify as d&b tracks proper, more than they do to simply compel the raver to shake uncontrollably, with their gatling percs and no-man's textures. 'Do It', meanwhile, contrasts the A-side's intuit-iators with an intelligent chopper-upper, working rattling and languid voices around a mercenary mix. This is the exception; 'Runtime' returns to the primeval sixteenths and flareup Reese textures that define this wicked EP. Learn More

Leron Carson may not be the most widely recognized producer in the Midwest, but his career has deep roots. His first release dates back to 2001, when Theo Parrish released a track he'd recorded in 1987, and since then, Carson has made intermittent appearances on Parrish's Sound Signature label. His latest 12" release for Theo's label is a true standout! "Lemonline" is a smooth, breezy gem, where Carson's jazzy piano melodies effortlessly blend with vibrant, Latin-inspired rhythms. On the flipside, "Sofnthik" transports listeners to an undiscovered 1980s Chicago deep house vibe, with warm, soulful chords swirling around a choppy drum machine groove. It's unclear if it was recorded three decades ago, but it certainly captures that nostalgic lo-fi, analogue essence. Learn More

Millsart is an alias of Jeff Mills which the Detroit tech pioneer and cosmic ambient maestro uses to explore some of his most melodic sounds. 'Theme From Star Child' is a lush soundscape with rich piano chords and glowing synths all over a mid-tempo beat that is perfectly inviting. 'Satori' is more percussive with loopy drums and scintillating hi-hats dancing over the beats. 'Love Warrior' is a broken beat trip with orchestral melodies and sustained chords that all glow like distant stars. The 2025 release, Obscured By Version, is a fresh collection of remixes from Dub Syndicate’s iconic era, spanning from 1989 to 1996. These remixes are part of a new box set that highlights this significant period in the band's history. Adrian Sherwood, the collective’s mastermind, returned to the original tapes from sessions of renowned albums like Stoned Immaculate and Echomania. The official sales note and PR are fairly enigmatic and mysterious out of respect for the wishes of the artists, but it's fairly widely shared public knowledge that NRSB-11 is primarily a collaboration between Gerald Donald (Drexciya, Dooplereffekt, Arpanet, Japanese Telecom and many more) and DJ Stingray 313 (Urban Tribe, official tour DJ for Drexciya and acclaimed solo artist). Originally released as a limited edition in 2013 on Belgium's WéMè label, their sole album Commodified quickly went out-of-print and has been much sought after ever since - it's currently on 1,783 Discogs wants lists. For the initial reissue, we've produced a special transparent 2 x LP edition with the original album artwork screenprinted onto a PVC outer-sleeve, and two clear vinyl discs housed in transparent poly inner bags. This edition is limited to 2,000 copies worldwide and we don't expect them to stick around for long. There is also a standard CD edition containing 3 bonus tracks. REPRESS ALERT!: Burnski's Constant Black label puts out constantly good sounds for all those of a minimal and tech house persuasion. This 33rd such outing comes from Per Hammar who offers a trio of irresistible grooves. 'Everybody hz' kicks off with rubbery drums and bass intertwining with each other while wonky synths up top add some tripped-out feels. A Varhat adds a little extra bounce and urgency to this silky late-night hypnotiser and then it's back to Hammar for 'The Danish URL'.
