NYC-via-Atlanta's Fugitive Artifact serves up a quartet of cuts that dwell in the murky space between grimey tech, noir house and full-blooded Chicago jack, nodding to John Carpenter while doing something distinct and fresh. The A-side is properly unnerving with driving basslines and atmospheric swells, while the B-side pushes into techno realms before closing with an ominous grey dawn.
