Hamburg heavyweight Kuttin Edge makes his Play:musik debut with a four-track set of cosmic, star-gazing drum & bass. 'Onyeabor' nods to a true Afrofunk maverick in both its title and its synth blasts, setting the levels high for what follows: 'Dark Horse' opens from a textural lofi chrysalis into a shattered rainbow of blasts, 'Loop Me' is built around a snake-like arpeggio that twists in a way reminiscent of both Pryda and Bop, and 'Geiger Scale' closes the EP with a radioactive twang.
