The fifth solo album from South London's Reginald Omas Mamode IV is a rootsy, deeply personal suite of jazz-funk, soul and African and Caribbean rhythms, played entirely live in his home studio. With no samples this time, he sculpts each groove by hand-blending drum machines, Rhodes licks, guitar and percussion into loose, earthy instrumentals and heartfelt mantras. 'It's Our World' sets the tone with its layered call for solidarity, while 'I Can't Believe' and 'Throw Your Woes Away' offer smoky, stripped-back funk that feels quietly resistant. 'Yasiin's Lament' and 'Whole Hearted' bring depth and uplift, balancing protest and tenderness.
